We got a new “play thingy” for the chickens! I affectionately call it “Chicken Disney”, but it’s really just a set of stairs with a little swing underneath (see photo to the left) for the chickens to get a bit of exercise. Frankly, I don’t they realize the full potential of this gadget, but they will go up and down it if you put some food on it for them to go after.
I think I’m getting whatever my daughter has, felt tired and stuffy all day. She’s been sick all day today, but did go to see the chickens this afternoon. She’s super excited that Valentine ate out of her hand!
This evening I “mustered up” just enough energy to try out the electric bicycle pump that I picked up at Home Depot last night. The front tire on Bobby’s electric bike inflated fine, but no go on the back tire. It looks like he might have punctured it with a nail or other hard object on the ride to school last week. I will need to take it to Black’s Cycle Shop when they open on Tuesday. I could attempt the repair myself, but I’m reminded of the ole’ days of camera repair when they would put little “tricks” like left turning screws so that they knew if you tampered with the bike… Better to leave it to someone who has done it before… Bobby won’t be able to ride his bike for a few more days, but it’s raining now, so not a big deal…
I was hoping that having some new hens around would help poor ole’ Valentine out, but he’s still as psychotic as ever. Maybe a bit of time will help…
