I got a call from Waypoint Insurance. I need to go into their office this week and update our insurance on the Camry. Hard to believe that we’ve had it for one year now!
Bobby got a call from Connor this morning and spent 1.5 hours at their place. He then came home, got lunch, and received a phone call from Isaac’s mom, so he went riding bikes with Isaac and back to his place to play. He is such a “social butterfly” here… Although the move has affected Katie and her friend group, Bobby is flourishing…

When Bobby got back I took him out to get a boba tea for Daddy/Son Chat #24! We were going to go to our regular spot, Poke Page, but when Katie mentioned that Noodlebox, near the Superstore, sold them, we ended up there. He opted for Taro Milk, and we got one for Katie as well, but they were not impressed. I guess it’s back to Poke Page!
We talked about how Paul McCartney used to check in to hotels with the alias of “Ramone” so people wouldn’t bother him. This lead to a conversation about “The Ramones” and eventually to Keith Moon “Moon the Loon”. I took this opportunity to tell Bobby that I booked two days for us as the Wyndham Hotel in Oyster Bay, the one with the pool and slide that he liked so much. We will be there this upcoming Saturday afternoon, and back to Courteney on Monday afternoon. He was so excited and said that he will “have to start packing”… 🙂
We plan on ordering webcams to keep track of the chickens. Hopefully there will be some deals on Amazon when their big sales event starts up in two days.
🧠Long COVID brain fog finally has a scientific explanation
For years, millions of people suffering from Long COVID have reported “brain fog”—trouble with memory, focus, and thinking clearly. Now, researchers in Japan have identified a biological cause behind these cognitive struggles.
A team at Yokohama City University used an advanced brain imaging technique called [11C]K-2 PET scanning to reveal abnormal increases in AMPA receptors (AMPARs)—molecules crucial for learning and memory—in patients with Long COVID. Elevated AMPAR levels were directly linked to both the severity of brain fog and higher inflammation markers, providing the first clear molecular evidence of the condition.
Published in Brain Communications (Oct 2025), the study found that AMPAR density could distinguish affected individuals from healthy ones with remarkable accuracy—100% sensitivity and 91% specificity. This breakthrough opens the door to new diagnostic tools and potential treatments, such as drugs targeting AMPAR activity.
With brain fog affecting over 80% of Long COVID patients worldwide, this discovery is a vital step toward validating patients’ experiences and accelerating the search for effective therapies.
