Day #5754 – (Tue., Oct. 7, 2025) – Model UN Club!

The day started off with a request from Katie for sausages or bacon. We have sausages, but will look into getting turkey bacon.

Bobby had a great time at school today. About 8-10 kids were out sick, so rather than start a new lesson, the teacher had them pretty much “play”, which Bobby loved. Someone pulled the fire alarm so that was a bit of a disruption to an idyllic day.

I’m planning to take my chess set to Ladysmith this weekend for my Daddy/Son outing with Bobby. We’ve played a game or two before, but maybe we will really get into it this weekend, between swimming and “stuff”… 🙂

Katie had her first “Model UN” club meeting today and she loves it! This will be another great opportunity for her to meet friends, and it includes a “Free Trip” to Vancouver, which she is looking forward to. Bonding adventures like this are always a great way to meet new friends and deepen current friendships.

Katie drove the van a bit from the house to the barn today (see photo to the left). I plan to take her to the Costco parking lot when it is closed so she can have more room to maneuver.

I did some research into the Rotary Club, and the average age is 59-65. Young people are not joining ranks, so they are trying to find new leaders to take over. Given this backdrop, and desire, Katie shows up??? They will LOVE HER! I tell Katie that this could open up more opportunities than you can imagine. These elderly people want to give and help, and they are probably retired with lots of $$$ to travel and fund projects and “whatever”. Heaven knows how many would want to have a “substitute” granddaughter like her? It’s an international organization so what a great way to travel the world and have connections to do it…
