Both kids went to school today. Katie wanted to come home early to study, so my wife went and picked her up. I picked up Bobby at 2:30 pm at Huband. He was eager to get home, quickly open the Advent Calendars, and then play with Ethan. You can see him going through the motions in the photo to the right. See that round rug under his feet? We bought that for him so that he will know where he is in the room. Before we bought it he would not know where he was and sometimes run into things.
The kids got “Candy Sticks” in their Advent Calendars today! When I was growing up they used to call them “Candy Cigarettes”, but this is certainly not in vogue these days. We used to pretend to smoke them and when you think of it, that’s just wrong. Even if these little candies don’t result in kids taking up smoking when they get older, it’s probably a good idea get rid of the option just in case. “Candy Sticks” is good by me. When I was buying them at Bulk Barn a few days ago the gentleman behind me didn’t have the same view. His opinion was that there was never any proof that they lead to kids taking up smoking so we should let them be.
Katie and I went for a drive this evening. She wanted to pick up some Christmas gifts as she leaves for Toronto on Friday and they will be coming back on Christmas Eve. We started off at Winners, where she bought a few things, and then went for a quick tour of Walmart.
