Day #5857 – (Sun., Jan. 18, 2026) – Dairy Queen!

With Bobby’s teeth gradually getting back to order I thought I would treat him to Daddy/Son Chat #28 today! He had the choice of going to either Poke Page or Dairy Queen and he opted for Dairy Queen. You can see him enjoying a “Brownie & Oreo Cupfection” in the photo to the right.

While at Dairy Queen Katie requested we pick her up a cheeseburger. They had a 2 for $7 special going, so one for Katie and one for Bobby. Bobby took his burger to the tub once we got home. Katie was not too impressed with the burger, but I think they are much better than McDonalds.

On the drive to Dairy Queen Bobby and I talked about various subjects. Such as:

  • How clowns were not viewed as scary when I was growing up. Steven King’s “IT” changed all that.
  • We talked about the Steven King movie “The Mist”, about a fog with a monster inside it that invades a town in Maine. I mentioned how great it would be to have a “Fog Removal Service” in this town, with one big fan that would blow the mist down the coast to the next town. Unlike candy or other unnecessary items, people would go without food in order to pay for a service like this that meant they got to see the next morning!
  • I talked to Bobby about the importance of getting a receipt. If there is very an issue or a debate on charges, if you have a receipt you have some form of proof. Without it, it is your word against theirs.
