Day #496 (Sat., May 14, 2011) – Rainboot Walking
We did a Skype with my mother this afternoon. When Katie first saw her she waved at her and said “bye”. Looks like we still have a bit of work to do with the “hello” and “bye” greetings.
I had a nap this afternoon and when I got up Katie was out on the patio with her rain outfit and boots. This was the first time that she walked in her new boots. Before today they seemed to scare her, and I guess to heavy and awkward to actually move around in.
Katie is getting really good at stacking blocks and things these days. She is now able to stack four of the “cube like” shapes (shown in the photo to the right). She still has a bit of problems putting shapes like stars into their appropriate holes, but she will get there. Every so often we see her properly putting one of the barnyard animals in the wooden farm puzzle into the correct location…all by herself mind you.
There there was a new episode of Lawrence Welk on television this evening. Yippee!!! We missed last weeks episode because the TiVo was set to record a maximum of 5 episodes. My wife almost cried. This meant another week of the old Lawrence Welk reruns… We used to have a “Do Wop” episode recorded but that seems to have disappeared.
