I got a lot done today around the property. First up was a trip to Home Depot where I picked up a Ryobi 40 volt weed wacker… The 20 volt one we currently have is just not strong enough to wack all the weeds we have on our property. We already have a Ryobi 40 volt lawn mower, so the batteries are interchangeable. Not only that, this unit I bought came with a 40 volt battery and charger! Just the 40 volt battery and charger cost $10 less than this, so I effectively got the weed wacker for $10! Quite the deal.
While at Home Depot I also picked up a hose splitter for my wife and a fan rake. I took the time to talk to the people at the service desk and it looks like they will find three separate companies for any projects we want, such as installing insulation in the garage or installing another automatic gate. They add no extra charge, and all they ask is to fill out a survey after the job is done. Quite the deal.
This afternoon I gave my wife and kids the tour of the 20 volt DeWalt reciprocating saw, drill driver, and impact driver I bought the other day. My wife and I then took the saw out and made quick work of the tree that fell down over the fence at the rear of our property (see photo to the left)! Hopefully this will deTUR the deer from coming back!
Next up was to fix the gate on the way to our patio with the drill driver. The other day I used the impact driver to install a large screw into the step of the Barn Suite, so I can safely say that all three tools have earned their keep!
My wife purchased a coffee table that doubles as a table to do jigsaw puzzles (see photo to the right). You just put a cover over the jigsaw puzzle when it’s a “work in progress”. My wife and Katie spent some time this afternoon working on it…
The riddle of the Amazon shoe rack has been solved! Apparently they shipped the wrong item when we placed an order for a tv stand… I’m not sure how they could get this mixed up… Amazon is all about barcodes and processes and getting it right! At any rate, they gave us our money back, we get to keep the shoe rack, and we place another order for a tv stand. Maybe they will screw up again and send us a new Camry? We could really use that!
