Happy Mother’s Day! I unveiled the Ninja Creami to the family today. As mentioned yesterday, I had four containers of frozen concoction ready to go! You can see Bobby investigating the process in the photo to the right. Here are the results:
- First up, I mixed up the vanilla ice cream to give the family the overview of how it worked. They opted to not have any mixins, so we enjoyed it as is.
- Next up, Bobby crunched up some Mint Oreo Cookies into the mix and we enjoyed that. Bobby loved it! I knew he would!
- My wife’s watermelon ice cream came next. Another winner, but probably the one that we liked the least. My wife could taste the coconut milk in it, but didn’t realize it until after I unveiled the ingredient list.
- Last up was the chocolate, and this was definitely the one that Katie liked the most. It was delish. We added some M&M’s to it, but Katie said she really didn’t care for M&M’s. Just the plain chocolate was a winner for her.
Kristina stopped by for 10 minutes this afternoon on her way to catch the Powell River ferry at 4pm!
Katie and my wife and I played a bit of pool this afternoon while Bobby played video games. Katie and I then went for a ride around town. We got to talking about Dr. David Sinclair and how he says that there is no reason that humans should not be able to live forever. Katie was quite excited about this.
I thought I would publish the ingredient list for the four Creami ice cream containers we taste tasted earlier today.
#1) Watermelon Creami Recipe
Base Ingredients:
- 2 cups watermelon (cubed and blended)
- ½ cup coconut milk (adds creaminess without overpowering the watermelon)
- ¼ cup half & half (for richness)
- 2 tbsp maple sugar (or table sugar, depending on preference)
- 1-2 dates (for natural sweetness and depth)
- ¼ tsp xanthan gum (helps with texture and prevents iciness)
Optional Enhancements:
- A pinch of salt (enhances flavor)
- A squeeze of lime juice (brightens the watermelon)
- A handful of raisins (if you want a chewy texture)
- A splash of almond milk (if you prefer a lighter consistency)
Instructions:
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
- Pour into your Ninja Creami pint and freeze for 24 hours.
- Once frozen, process using the Sorbet or Ice Cream setting.
- If crumbly, add a splash of milk and Re-Spin.
- Enjoy your refreshing watermelon masterpiece! 🍉✨
If you want a pure sorbet, skip the dairy and use just watermelon, sugar, and xanthan gum. Let me know if you want to tweak anything! 😋

Mint Oreo Creami Recipe
Base Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup 3% milk (for creaminess without being too heavy)
- 1/2 cup half & half (adds richness)
- 3 tbsp maple sugar (or table sugar)
- 2-4 dates (for natural sweetness)
- 1/2 tsp xanthan gum (helps with texture)
- A pinch of salt (enhances flavor)
- 1/2 tsp peppermint (I used vanilla) extract (for that cool minty kick)
- Green food coloring (I had none) (optional, for that classic mint look)
The Star Ingredient:
- 4-6 Mint Oreo Cookies (crushed, but save some for mix-ins!)
Instructions:
- Blend everything except the Oreos until smooth.
- Pour into your Ninja Creami pint and freeze for 24 hours.
- Once frozen, process using the Ice Cream setting.
- If crumbly, add a splash of 3% milk and Re-Spin.
- Make a hole in the center, add crushed Mint Oreos, and run the Mix-In cycle.
- Top with extra cookie crumbles and enjoy your minty masterpiece! 🍃🍪
This version keeps the creaminess balanced while making sure the Mint Oreos shine. Let me know how it turns out! 😋
