In Lithuania the “Fam” took an Uber to Trakai (see photo to the left). I guess Bobby “kind of” liked it, but Katie not so much.
Here’s what Wikipedia says about it: Trakai is a city and lake resort in Lithuania. It lies 17 miles west of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Because of its proximity to Vilnius, Trakai is a popular tourist destination. The city is inhabited by 5,357 people, according to 2007 estimates. A notable feature of Trakai is that the city was built and preserved by people of different nationalities. Historically, communities of Karaims, Tatars, Lithuanians, Russians, Jews and Poles lived here. Trakai was the medieval capital city of Lithuania.
After walking through the castle they took a 30 minute boat ride and had lunch at a pizza place. One pizza with prosciutto/mushrooms. The other? Just cheese and grape tomatoes.
Once they got home they crashed.
Katie wanted to keep up with her viola skills while in Lithuania, so they found someone who would let her use their viola. It needs rosin, so they will try to get that tomorrow.
Back in Comox I went to Impresso Cafe in the downtown area for the first time today. They have renamed their Americano to “Canadiano”. I asked to have some moose cream in mine… 🙂 Quaint little shop, but certainly no Panera Bread!
