This is officially Katie’s second New Years. Won’t be long til she is two years old…
My wife took Katie to the park today so that I could finish up cutting and drilling the pieces for the baby doll crib. I have all the main pieces ready to go now…just need to drill holes for the headboard and footboard. I want to assemble the rest of the crib before I do that to ensure that everything will fit properly.
I drove to Home Depot in Crossroads to pick up some supplies for the baby doll crib this afternoon. I got some “Warm Yellow Gloss” spray paint for the crib color itself and some “Clear Gloss” spray paint to supply a finish over the flowers I plan to put on the headboard. I also picked up some wood glue (but I might choose to use Liquid Nails instead) and some 1 1/4″ wood screws and veneer edging. I have some scrap wood around so that I can try out these items before I utilize them on the crib itself.
I took Katie to the playground in Lochmere this evening.
Bath time for Katie this evening. We have been trying to cut back on the number of baths we give her as her skin is so sensitive and dry. She has eczema on various parts of her body and having lots of baths can only make the situation worse. Having said that…tonight was bath night. Take a look at the photo to the right. These are foam doll pieces that Katie got as a Christmas gift and will attach to the side of the bathtub. You can interchange the hair and shirt and skirt to customize various looks. There was a little dog and a teddy in the assortment and Katie seemed to be most fascinated with these two pieces.
