There was a Santa Claus Parade at 10am in Chapel Hill this morning (see photo to the right). We bundled up Katie and got there just in time to get a parking space on Rosemary Street. We then walked over to Franklin Street and the parade was just passing by…we didn’t miss a thing.
There were a lot of marching bands (that Katie particularly liked) and kids and adults walking by and passing out candy canes and candies. There were also a lot of karate and tae kwon do demonstrations. We saw Monte and Brian marching with their boy scout troop.
One strange thing happened during the parade. As a float for a local dentist passed by there were kids passing out toothbrushes to the kids. Right after that kids came along and passed out candy. Customer generation program I guess you could call it…
Just before we left we stopped off at International Pizza (we were basically watching the parade just outside of it) and got their two large pizza special to go. No need to worry about what to get for lunch today.
When Katie got up from her nap this evening we drove out to Sam’s Club to get another camera. Our Sony has some issues, such as the shutter not always opening, but the big issue is that we can’t find it. Katie keeps saying that it is near the front of the house but we’re not sure if she is telling the truth or just talking. We ended up getting a Canon Camera and saved $80 off the list price + $20 more for signing up for a Sam’s Club credit card.
This evening my wife wrapped up a present for Santa to give to Katie at the Lithuanian Party tomorrow.
