Day #1852 (Thu., Jan. 29, 2015) – Eye Drops = Wrestle With Daddy
My wife got an electric sharpener in the mail today from Amazon (see photo to the right). She doesn’t have time to sharpen Katie’s pencils anymore and they always seem to be dull or broken. It now sits prominently on Katie’s desk. They spent the evening sharpening every pencil they could find.
As I have been writing the last couple of days, it’s been a challenge to get Katie to let us put eye drops in her eyes. She’s getting better at it, but it still is a challenge. Who can blame her. It’s kind of scary to have someone put a foreign object, no matter how liquid, into our eyes.
This evening however a remarkable thing happened. When we asked her to sit down and make a “puffy face” (so that her eyes pop out) she started to whine and run away. I then told her that if she let us put her eye drops in I would wrestle with her. She immediately grinned from ear to ear and got onto the bed so we could put the eye drops in. I didn’t realize I was that great a wrestler…
