This morning Katie gave her mother both of the cards we made last night. You can see the Happy Birthday card to the left.
I took Katie to Chinese Music Class this morning. My wife asked Katie to find out what the Chinese word for red was (hongsa). Neither Genevieve or Stephen showed up with Gunther.
This afternoon I took Katie to Jonah’s birthday party. Jonah is one of her classmates and he and Katie and Zachary (a former classmate) were the three blonde headed kids that used to play a lot together.
As soon as we arrived at their house Duncan and Kendra drove up. We walked up the lane together and Eleri came running out of the house and hugged Duncan and not Katie. It was going to be a long day. Later in the day Katie came running up to me crying saying that she wanted to go home. I guess Eleri yelled at her. I walked her back to Eleri to get to the bottom of the issue. I’m not sure why Eleri yelled at Katie but I asked her if she thought she should apologize to her. She said she didn’t like to apologize and that she was filled with anger about life. This poor kid…she needs counselling. They are going to have a lot of problems with her when she grows older. Katie was very happy that I took her side in the matter and confronted Eleri. I told Katie about people who are not true friends and suggested she avoid these type of people when possible.
On a more positive note, Jonah had a tiny pet snake and a poodle so Katie was in her glory. I saw Katie chasing Jonah and Ben about so I guess she was having fun with them. There were not presents at this party but there was plenty of physical activity as they have a swing in their living room and a zip line in their back yard. After a feed of cupcakes it was time to go home.
Little Bobby is still not sleeping much. He is getting more and more aware of his surroundings and enjoys the songs I sing to him. “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” seems to be the song she responds to the most.
