I took the day off work today to get ready for my surgery tomorrow. There was a bit of a mixup in that my wife called them last week and said that it would be difficult to meet the 5:30 am arrival time tomorrow as we have two small children to take care of. Apparently, that note never got passed on. At any rate, we were able to work it out and my new arrival time at the Hillsborough hospital tomorrow is 12:30 pm with a surgery time of 3:00 pm. I’m not allowed to eat after midnight, so I will be hungry, but at least we won’t have to deal with all the early morning drama now.
I had an appointment with the foot wound specialist this morning. My wife tagged along. The doctor said the wound on my right instep has healed, which is good news. We then went to my wife’s bank to fill out a “living will”. The hospital would like to have that on file before the surgery tomorrow.
The photo to the left shows the class book that they passed out in Bobby’s preschool class. There is a page for each kid.
This evening I went to Trader Joe’s for supplies. Katie wanted a potted plant, so I picked her up a flower pot of roses. They didn’t have any nice boxes of chocolates so I stopped off at Walgreens to get a couple of boxes of chocolate truffles for the hospital workers tomorrow. One box for the staff and the other box for the doctor who will be performing the surgery.
It’s getting harder and harder to catch Bobby when it is time to take him to bed. He will get under the trampoline and my wife will have to drag him out. It will be nice to be able to keep up with him, and for me that process starts tomorrow.
