My wife read somewhere that at little Katie’s age kids like to play “hide and seek” and “paddy cake”.
The four of us who currently reside in our little house decided to eat out this evening. We chose a nearby restaurant with a Beatles theme (see photo to the left). This was the first time my mother-in-law had a donair. We put little Katie’s car seat on the table and proceeded to feed her “mush”…as is her norm.
I had to explain to my wife what “paddycake” is. I did a Google and here are the lyrics:
Paddycake, Paddycake, baker’s man,
Bake me a cake as fast as you can,
Roll it, pat it, mark it with a B,
Put it in the oven for baby and me.
Here’s a YouTube video to show how it sounds in real life.
I played “paddycake” a bit with little Katie this evening (well sort of), but she doesn’t quite understand that she is supposed to put up her hands so that I can touch them. She just watches you clap your hands together and smiles.
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY

1) Little Katie played paddycake for the first time today (well sort off).
