9:30am – I just changed little Katie and took her to her mother. She has acquired the hiccups at some point, and it’s a very interesting combination of her sucking and hiccuping at the same time. “Slurp-hic” is guess is the sound…
10:00am – I’m not sure if I ever showed a picture of the crib. I don’t think so…so here it is. It has a series of controls on the end of the unit, so you can adjust various aspects of the crib. For example, you can vibrate the mattress to give your baby a bit of a relaxing “ride” to coax them to sleep. What will they think of next.
10:45am – Little Katie was making a fuss this morning and we thought it was time for yet another feeding. I held her while my wife got ready to nurse her. As I was cuddling her I started to sing the lullaby “Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep little baby…” (or something like that). She stopped crying and started to settle down. Her eyes got heavy and she relaxed. Hmmm…there was a time where only a good feeding could get this response. I wonder if this is yet another sign our little girl is growing up. Alas, time goes so fast. It seems like only last week when she was born…oh yeah, it was…
6:30pm – As my wife and I watch the news this evening the main story is the earthquake in Haiti. What a terrible thing to happen to a people that have suffered so much over the years. The Haitians love their children just as much as my wife and I love little Katie.
8:00pm – Today was another typical day in the raising of Katie. She ate, she slept, she needed changing, and she squeaked a bit. I remember a friend telling me that raising a child was much of the same each day, with highlights that you will remember forever. Guess that we are entering this phase…
WHAT I LEARNED TODAY
————————————
1) Today was just another day…more of the same…nothing eventful.
2) Count your blessings.
