I came up with a different idea for Daddy/Daughter Day #94 and Daddy/Son Day #24 this month. I’m going to try to “re-create” the theater experience in my bedroom (see photo to the left). You can draw the curtains and make it dark, and we can all relax in the master bed and “nod off” if we want (probably what daddy will be doing the most).
Today the kids and I decided to watch “Alice In Wonderland”, streamed via Disney+. My wife wanted to work so it was just the kids and I. We have gummies and popcorn, so I gave the kids some gummies in the bottom of the bowl and covered with popcorn. That’s one attempt to slow the progress as they will practically inhale gummies…
Alice in Wonderland is certainly an interesting movie. I can see why Jefferson Airplane wrote their song “White Rabbit” now… The movie sure seemed like a “trip” (even though I personally have never been on one). Different sorts of creatures and Alice getting smaller and bigger at various points.
It’s funny how movies back then seemed to be more “brutal” if that’s the word. There was one scene where a guy ate all these little baby oysters. In another scene, the queen was yelling out “Off with their heads” as the guards dragged people away.
Katie liked the movie the most out of the three of us. I was just happy to be with the kids. Bobby wanted to switch the channel at one point and got up and turned the light on as she said he didn’t like to watch television in the dark.
All in all, another fun and successful event with the kids.
