As I was playing in the playyard with little Katie this evening she tried to stand up…at least it appeared that she did. It’s amazing how quickly she learned to sit up, and now it’s hard to get her to do anything but. Like my wife mentioned, she never really did perfect the “tummy to back” turn. Every time she tried it she ended up banging her head…so I think she gave up at some point.
You know those little party blowers? The ones with the tassles on the end that when you blow in one end this little sleeve of paper comes out? I let little Katie play with one this evening, and she was fascinated with it. I took all the tassles off first of course…in case she choked on them.
The photo to the left shows another items we picked up at the consignment sale in Apex on Saturday. This little toy drum will either count or say the alphabet with every strike on the pad. Too bad you can’t shut the background music off…that is a bit annoying after awhile. It came with two drumsticks but they are pointy and rather “unsafe” for little Katie right now.
If you tickle little Katie in the ribs she will smile and let out a laugh. Who knew that something like this would be “funny” at such a young age. I guess this is “hard-wired” into our nervous system somehow.
