My wife took the kids to orchestra camp this morning. I offered to pick them up, but Darcy, the painter that Anthony recommended, stopped by to survey the garage. He wouldn’t give me a price, but said that he would let me know. I asked Anthony later if he was interested in the job, and he said he was. Apparently he might not be able to do math and needs to sit at his desk with a calculator to give an estimate….
Later in the day he came back with a quote of $3200 to paint the garage. That’s quite a bit more expensive than I anticipated, so we’re going to shop around a bit. I think I’ll put a new service request in at Home Depot and see if they have anyone who would like the job. If anyone responds, at least we’ll have some idea if the $3200 is average or too expensive. I’ve even thought of going back to the original plan of painting it myself. It would be nice to save thousands of dollars… I could buy a laser engraver with that money. My wife has offered to help paint and maybe the kids would enjoy it as well. Kind of a family project… 🙂

They passed out a survey form at orchestra camp today. You can see Bobby’s responses in the photos to the right.
It’s sunny today so I let the chickens out one more time. I made sure to see no eagles in the big tree at the back of Gail & Robert’s lot, and none flying overhead. I checked on them from time to time and they sure love to work their way to the other side of the chicken coop. Once it started to get dark, one of the chickens had worked her way back to the coop, but the rooster and other chicken were on the other side of the coop, the same side that we found them last night. I was able to coax the chicken back to the coop through the donkey stall with some tortilla chips, but the rooster could not be coaxed. I decided to leave it. Once I came back to the coop a bit later, all three were resting on their perch, so it appears that they will come back once the sun starts to go down, providing it’s not raining mind you.
