Today is Victoria Day so no school for the kids.
I decided to take Bobby out for a Daddy/Son Day #94. I showed him the metal detector I had in the trunk of the car and thought he might like to go and give it a try!
But first, what to eat… He chose Tim Hortons over the newly built McDonalds in Courtenay. He had a “vanilla-dipped donut with sprinkles, a Reese’s chocolate chip cookie, and a chocolate milk. I had a jalapeno chicken wrap and a “Double Double” coffee. After I sat down he wanted something more “substantial”, so I went back and got him a BLT sandwich.
While at Tim Hortons I talked to Bobby about the importance of being happy as much as possible all the time and thankful for the little things in life, like being able to afford a donut. We talked about how nice it would be to be so rich we could just get a private jet to fly down to see Ethan for the day!

We were going to go to Poke Page for a BoBa drink, but since it’s Victoria Day it was closed.
We went back home to pick up a shovel in case we found something. I couldn’t find a good shovel, but Bobby remembered the spade he had in his sandbox… Good enough… We were then off to the “Mayfair Road Beach Access” to see what we could find (see photo to the left)!
Bobby found a nail and a piece of driftwood that resembled a shelf to store all his stuff on. I asked him if he wanted to go anywhere else and he said that he wanted to go home and talk to Ethan as he hadn’t played with him yet that day.
Katie spent the day cooking! Eggs in the AM!
My wife found a rake in the old barn. Maurene had everything on this place… I didn’t realize that the old barn had another chicken coop behind it till I noticed it the other day!
