Bobby made a cool little airplane out of cardboard (see photo to the right). It actually glides! The tail section could use a bit more propping up…
Katie and Bobby start school a week from tomorrow, but Katie will be going to Vanier tomorrow for 3 hours to make posters to welcome the new students. These get credited to her as “volunteer hours”.
This upcoming semester Katie will be taking the following subjects: “Foundations of Math & Pre-Calculus”, “Literary Studies 10”, and “Science 10”. She is also taking French this semester and “Guitar II” next semester.
Katie spent a lot of time cleaning her room this afternoon. Batman doesn’t like the sound of the vacuum cleaner and hides in the closet. Once the vacuum cleaner was shut off he wandered out for a pat… The temptation was too great!
The bike lock holder on Bobby’s new electric bike has fallen off. I don’t think we will be able to replace just the holder, so we might need to get a whole new lock and assembly. He told me that the other student who has an electric bike has a “chain” type lock, so we’re planning to look at those at Canadian Tire tomorrow when we go to see “The Bad Guys 2” movie at Landmark Cinemas. They are not as secure as the lock he currently has, but certainly less bulky. Since the other student has one of these locks on their electric bike, and Huband Street is not known as a “high crime area”, maybe we’ll get one of those. We’ll check them out tomorrow.
Robert and Gale are back home and I had a chance to talk to Robert this afternoon. They left in the 3rd week of May, so they were gone for three whole months! They drove their camper across the country and spent most of the time in Newfoundland, but some time in Cape Breton as well. He knew of, and passed by Truro, but didn’t stop there. He said that they went all the way to the top and visited the Viking Settlement at L’Anse aux Meadows, and ate a lot of lobster!
