I stopped off at Costco this morning to check out what sort of desktops they have for sale. They actually only had two, one business and one gaming computer (see photo to the right). This gaming computer might be “overkill” in terms of what Bobby needs right now, but hear me out…
- At $1799 (not including tax), it’s an expensive computer, but it has a NVDA graphics card, which is what Bobby needs to run Gorilla Tag VR.
- Costco has the best return policy of any of the computer retailers, and if it doesn’t work for Gorilla Tag VR like Bobby wants, just package it up in 90 days and take it back down the road…easy peasy.
- Costco doubles the manufactures warranty automatically, so 2 years if anything goes wrong.
- Since it’s overkill for what Bobby needs, any software updates will automatically be runnable (in the forseeable future). This means that it’s very possible we won’t need to get another computer for Bobby till he goes to college. I sure don’t relish having to get a new computer once the gaming software starts to need more “grunt”. This should solve the problem.
- Katie will get the computer that Bobby currently has. She is able to run complicated “Project Zoo” layouts on his computer, but not her laptop, so we’re good to go.
- Graduation gift problems for both kids solved.
I drove Katie to Madeline’s birthday party at Creative Cove, 2925 Comox Road at 5 pm this evening. She was there for two hours and I picked her up and drove her home. On the way home we stopped off at Wendy’s to get combo meals for both her and Bobby.
We’ve heard back from the psychologist in Victoria. They sent us 4 questionnaires to fill out! Each costing extra $$$ for sure…
