Day #5981 – (Fri., May 22, 2026) – Cycle Shopping!

The garbage truck woke Katie up this morning.

Bobby is home sick today. He had McDonald’s last night as we watched “Project Adam”. Could fatty & sugary fast food like McDonalds be the culprit?

Katie had a relaxing morning and played a bit of “Project Zoo” on her laptop. She tells me that it works fine on her laptop at the start, but the more you build, the slower it gets. I dropped her off at Vanier at 12:20 am and picked her up at 3:10 pm.

In between dropping Katie off and picking her up, I went BMX bike shopping! I was told by Black’s Cycle that the two cycle shops in Cumberland, Dodge City Cycles and Beaufort Cycles. Dodge City Cycles didn’t even have one bike in the shop. They said that they are not really that popular anymore and mountain bikes have taken over due to all the trails around the community. Beaufort Cycles did have a couple of BMX bikes in stock, but they didn’t have the “shock absorbers” that Bobby mentioned the ones he drove at Huband Elementary had. I ended up the cycle “window shopping” trip by checking out the offerings at Walmart and Canadian Tire. Interestingly enough, as I was waiting for Katie, a boy drove by on his bike and put it on the top of his car (see bottom photo to the right). This looked like the bike that Bobby was mentioning to me. I just need to sit Bobby down and get the scoop on what he really wants.

We are out of milk so I went to Thrifty Foods to pick up two gallons this evening. I was going back to McDonalds for a coffee, but wanted them to have their milk, so Bobby met me at the driveway and took the two gallons inside.
