I picked Katie up after school today close to 4 pm rather than 4:30 pm as the MUN meeting went rather quickly. We went for a drive and ended up at McDonalds where she got a chicken McNugget meal. We talked about Brazil, her choice of nation for the upcoming MUN conference. We talked about her upcoming autism assessment results. We talked about Madeline’s upcoming birthday party. We saw a deer on a lawn near Seal Bay without a care in the world. So this was effectively: Daddy/Daughter Day #169.
After dropping Katie off Bobby wanted to go see the movie “Hail Mary” in the “Barn Suite”, so we made Daddy/Son Chat Day #30 out of it (see photo to the right). This consisted off:
- McDonald’s takeout… $5 McValue “Double Cheeseburger” meal + regular Oreo McFlurry.
- “Project Hail Mary” was costing $25 to stream so we settled for “Project Adam” which was streaming for free.
Today Katie mentioned that she loves the game “Project Zoo”, but her laptop is too slow to play it. It plays fine on Bobby’s computer, and Bobby is complaining that his computer doesn’t have a graphics card strong enough to play Gorilla Tag, so we’re strategizing this year’s potential “Graduation Gifts”:
- Bobby’s computer goes to Katie so she can play Project Zoo.
- Get Bobby a new computer with a graphics card strong enough to play Gorilla Tag. We checked my PC and the one I have, a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (8 GB), is ideal!
- Get Bobby a BMX bike. Bobby says he is close to 5′ 1″…l need that to assess the size of the bike.
- Katie got the $1000 Autism Assessment & trip to Victoria.
