Katie was very excited today that Bobby came and asked her if they could do scrapbooking together. They spent the afternoon doing that (see photo to the left). Katie even gave him one of her unused journals. She said that she really liked that one, so I suspect she will want to get another one off Amazon.
Later this evening Katie and I went for a drive. We ended up at Tim Hortons where Katie really wanted a chocolate dipped donut but since they were out she had to settle for a glazed chocolate one instead. During the drive she got to thinking about this upcoming school year, and how much work she would have to do, and actually demotivated herself from wanting to drive the car herself. So, it was just like the ole’ days where daddy did all the driving! That’s okay, there will be other times.
Katie told me that the scrapbooking page he worked on, was about a motorbike that he wants. I talked to him about it later this evening. He said that he was even willing to do chores to “earn” it. It’s called the “Heybike Villain” and costs about $2000. It’s not the price that is as much of a concern for me as the specs behind it. It’s an electric motorbike and my initial research shows that it’s not allowed to be driven on the road, and in fact you would need to go to certain areas where permission is given. It’s also a lot of bike for an 11-year old. In talking with Bobby this evening he was wanting it so that he could go visit his friends, which will not be possible since you can’t ride it on the road. He alluded to the fact that some of his friends have one, so I will ask him more questions on this tomorrow.
