Day #6105 – (Wed., Sep. 23, 2026) – Vanier Picture Day!

Both kids went to school today. Thank God for small miracles… 🙂 Bobby rode his eBike and I dropped Katie off at Vanier at 9:10 am. Today is Vanier picture day (see photo to the right)! Of the three pictures they took of Katie, she likes the one on the right the most.

My wife met with Katie’s case worker regarding her Individual Education Plan at 12:40 pm today. I was thinking of going but my leg “twinged” and given the potential long walk from the car to the office to sit down and talk, we figured not to risk it.

Bobby’s stomach was acting up tonight. He told me that he thinks that ketchup does this, and perhaps more, like the hot dog under the ketchup. We talked a bit about elimination diets, where perhaps he eats only one bland item, like oatmeal, and if that doesn’t cause an upset stomach, add another ingredient, such as broccoli. Eventually you will start to have an upset stomach and by then you have narrowed it down to the ingredient that is causing the problem. As is usually the case in this sort of situation, the plan is simple, but the implementation is hard.

Please Note that GP Vanier’s attendance afternoon reporting has changed, your daily absence emails will now include your students name, and blocks missed. For example, “This is a message from GP Vanier Secondary to inform you that a student from your household by the name of  <NAME>, grade 11 was marked absent on 09/23/2026 for periods 3.  Periods 1 & 2 are in the morning while 3 & 4 are in the afternoon.
