Day #519 (Mon., June 6, 2011) – McDonald Woods on Seabrook

When I got up this morning my wife was in the process of cleaning up Katie’s toys. She doesn’t use a lot of them anymore. Those toys that have buttons that she loved to push are so “yesterday”. She never did take a hankering for those soft stackable blocks that other kids seem to enjoy so much. Puzzles are gradually starting to lose her interest as well. She is consumed by books and especially drawing and coloring these days.

Where did Katie get ahold of that red crayon? Don’t need to worry about it now…most of it is on the wall.

The babysitter came at 1pm today. It is always a joy when she arrives on Monday afternoon. After 3 full days without her Katie can sure have our place looking “well lived in” (to put it mildly).

This evening we went to Moe’s for dinner. We then went to a park on McDonald Woods on Seabrook Street (see photo to the left). Katie seemed to like this the best of all the parks we have been to so far. We are not sure why, but perhaps it was because it was a bit cooler in the evening by the time we got there. I took a ball for her to play with, but a little boy (who was 3) ended up playing with it the most. Katie enjoyed chasing after the squirrels (the squirrels not so much).

Katie was very fussy this evening and seemed to calm down when Kenny Vance and the Planotones went into their harmony routine. How can a girl who is so young appreciate harmony?
