Day #633 (Wed., Sept 28, 2011) – “Ni Hao, Kai-lan”

2011-09-28 - Marker Colors

This morning I was playing with Katie and the “gutted” markers I gave her. She has a book with various colors so I put the tops of the markers onto the various sections (see photo to the left). Hopefully this will help her to learn her colors.

Our babysitter Ramona took Katie out for a stroll this afternoon. Katie sure loves to get outside and with Ramona and me taking her outside usually two times a day she is getting her dose of fresh air. My wife wants to be able to do this as well, but her PhD thesis takes priority for now…

It was kind of late when Katie got up from her nap so we decided that we would just take her trike out front of our townhouse for a spin. We did this for a while…but the bugs started to eat us so we came inside to play. Tonight’s festivities involved a number of things…playing with the wooden fruit and vegetable toy, “horsey” as we call it (where Katie gets on the backs of mom and dad and bounces up and down). I showed my wife how Katie likes it when she puts things in your mouth and you spit them out. Kind of gross…but Katie will laugh hysterically.

I found a cartoon on television called “Ni Hao, Kai-lan”. This show teaches children how to speak some Chinese words which is nice. It is good for Katie to have exposure to the Chinese language.
