Day #3852 (Thu., July 23, 2020) – Making Donuts
I had Daddy/Daughter Day #95 and Daddy/Son Day #25 today. I decided to make some donuts with the kids and we would then watch a movie.
After creating the donut mix in the blender the kids helped me cut the shapes. We used some cookie cutters and Bobby got creative and made a chair. I told them that they would puff up when they were cooked and become unrecognizable (see photo to the right), but since they would be so delicious they would gobble them up regardless. I sprinkled some granulated sugar on top of them once I took them out of the fryer.
We decided to watch “Babes In Toyland” after viewing what Disney+ had to offer. I loaded up the popcorn tubs with donuts and gummy bears. I decided to wait on popping the popcorn to see if they were still hungry.
While the kids were on the bed eating and watching I was tired and lied down beside Bobby. It wasn’t long before I was “out”. I was tired… When I awoke a couple of hours later Katie was gone and Bobby was asleep beside me. I teased Bobby later on that we should have more Daddy/Son days like this in the future.
