The whole idea behind the Daddy/Daughter and Daddy/Son Days was an opportunity to spend time together to do whatever they wanted on an individual basis. This has been compromised due to COVID-19 as it’s hard in such a confined environment to spend time with only your son or daughter. If you do, the other will come running to see what you are up to.
Well, this has been especially hard on Katie. So, I’m going to implement a new model. I told Katie this morning that we would be introducing the “one on one” model again. We would do whatever she wanted, and hopefully Bobby will be kept busy with the computer or playing with mom. If he does come running, then we will have to drop what we are doing and entertain him. She’s fine with that. DISCLOSURE: I’m going to implement this same model with Bobby… But for today, let’s start the process with Katie.
The first step was to figure out a special food for these times together. We went onto Amazon and browsed. Katie was very excited about the Cherry Gummy Rings (see photo to the left), so we ordered those. We can order different candies at some point if Katie wants to try those as well.
I then showed her the CakeWalk software that I downloaded for free. We can use this mixing software to fully develop the song that she is writing on the piano.
The next thing we talked about is movies that Katie wants to see. We already started to develop the list.
Soon Bobby came into the room and the kids sat on the master bed, had their dinner, and watched the movie “Emperor’s Got A New Grove” (released in 2000).
