Day #5559 – (Wed., Mar. 26, 2025) – Burnaby Village Museum

Well I finally tricked Batman into taking that little blue antibiotic pill. They key was to wrap it in some chicken skin (see photo to the right). I then put some of his regular canned food around it and voila! This process is certainly a lot easier than holding him down and trying to get him to swallow it, especially since he tries to spit it out!

Over in Vancouver, after breakfast, my wife called an Uber and they went to the Burnaby Village Museum. It is a recreated village from 1920s on a 10-acre open-air site. They explored how homes and businesses used to look and even watched a silent movie staring Charlie Chaplin.

One house of a upper middle class family (of a railroad supervisor) was there on the property already and the others were moved or built there on site. They had ice-cream and a scone at the coffee shop and then the kids played kitchen table tennis in one of the ‘mansions’. There was even a barber shop of sorts (see photo to the left)!

After taking another Uber home (a Tesla with huge GPS maps!) they ordered pizza. At 6 pm Katie and my wife went to the mall to look for new sneakers for her and succeeded in finding some! The mall had a Wall-mart, so we picked some groceries and then took the SkyTrain back home.

Back in Courtenay, after the success I had with the “chicken skin” wrapped blue pill this morning, I thought I would try this combo with the little liver pill! Well, Batman hates the smell of this particular smell, and very wary of it, and just left it on the plate.

Maple is, well, Maple. Enjoying playing ball, eating whatever is placed before her, and guarding the house waiting for the family to arrive home!
