Day #5563 – (Sun., Mar. 30, 2025) – Garden Seeds

Katie is still not feeling well and couldn’t sleep. She was up at 5:20 am. My wife got a 10:55 am appointment at Urgent Care for her. The doctor thinks that she has the flu. She has been vomiting a lot today, her nose is stuffed, her neck hurts, and her tonsils are swollen. Strep test results for her will be ready in a few days.

My wife did some gardening work with Bobby this afternoon (see photo to the right). They planted some seeds for tomato, cucumber, lettuce, radish, peas, onions, carrots, and flowers.

We really need to get cracking on getting the automatic gate up before these little seedlings get planted. The deer and rabbits and all of the other “critters” in the neighborhood will be all over them unless we protect them. It will take time to get them to come out and assess our needs, schedule work crews, and then actually build it… Stocks are down with all this “tariff talk”, so I would rather not sell more stock to pay for it, but this is something that cannot be delayed, unless we don’t want a garden this year…

There are nausea meds at Courtenay Shoppers Drug Mart to pick up, but I’m not feeling well myself so didn’t venture out today. Hopefully I’m not getting what Katie is getting… A bit of a shame as it was quite sunny and nice this afternoon. We are expecting rain for the next couple of days…
