Kristina and Darius arrived from Victoria just before noon today. Darius, who is a learning driver, drove all the way.
As soon as they arrived the birthday celebration for my wife began. Some highlights:
- I brought a birthday cake, some Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and my chicken birthday card, from the “Barn Suite”.
- Katie brought down from upstairs the Lego Magnolia kit, the puzzle of a house that looks like our property with chickens out front, and the birthday card she made.
- Bobby brought down from upstairs the birthday card he made of pouring a glass of wine on the front and a bird drawing on the inside.
- Kristina and Darius brought a fruit torte and some balloons along with a “special” candle (see photo to the right).
We had a lunch of salmon, rice, salad, wine, and followed up with the birthday cake and fruit torte.
Bobby enjoyed taking the “special” candle apart once it had done it’s thing… A budding engineer in the family?
Katie, Darius, Bobby, and I played Uno out on the patio.
This evening Katie, her mother, Darius, and Kristina played the “Exploding Cats” card game.
