The plan for today was for the family to drive out to Campbell River and take a boat and do some whale watching. Well, with my leg I was a pass. Bobby was sick so he stayed home as well.
The whale watching expedition was a success in that they got to see some orcas. You can see Katie enjoying the boat ride in the photo to the right. Oh, and they picked Bobby up that cool hoodie (also in the photo to the right). My wife texted me and asked me to contact Bobby and have him check his watch to see the image. He said that he wanted it immediately after seeing the photo. I wonder if he will wear it on the first day of school this week?
“The chef” was a bit worried about the whales as she had read a bit about them being aggressive. It’s a good thing that she didn’t read “Moby Dick” and Captain Ahab’s encounter with Moby!
This evening “the chef” cooked dinner for us and we all assembled around the dining room table. Katie and Bobby ate in their room. Katie did materialize a bit later in the evening to give us a concert on her viola. The “Dal Student” got to talking to her about the difference between violas and violins, so they hit it off. Apparently she is also autistic, as well as potentially her dad, so I said “Welcome To The Club”!
My leg started to act up again in the evening so I excused myself and went up to the Barn Suite to go to bed. It’s amazing how pain can make you sleepy. Oh well, at least I was able to move around a bit and come down to see them yesterday and today.
They will be leaving for Halifax bright and early tomorrow morning. I take that back, they will be leaving at 4 am, which will be early, but not bright. My wife plans to drive them, but we do have the Comox Taxi, but no Uber, here in the Comox Valley. I’m not sure I could even get up into the van to drive them!
