Day #809 (Thu., Mar. 22, 2012) – Katie’s Lampshade Hat
Katie loves to eat food off the floor (see photo to the right)…we try to have plates under it for extra protection but that is secondary to her. She likes her food aged and available and at “eye level”…
I’m not sure what I did to my back but I’ve been hobbling around today at work. The first signs of a problem were last Saturday when we took Katie to Pullen Park. Perhaps I strained something when I was taking her out of the car seat and putting her back in. Anyway, it seems to be off and on and today it is “on”… My wife put some “Icy Hot” on it and it seems to have helped out a bit.
This evening Katie met me when I got home from work. This seems to be the norm…her meeting me half-way down the stairs. As soon as I go up to her she walks back up the stairs so that I won’t be able to give her a hug and a kiss. She likes to see daddy but is not too much into the “Huggy Kissy” thing…
This evening Katie decided that she would make a hat out of the lampshade on our nightstand. We’re not sure what she was saying but it sounded something like she was on a “jungle adventure”? She is so animated it would be nice to be able to figure out what she was saying. Anyway, she put the lampshade on my head then my wife’s head and then got a little too wild. She started to hit us with the lampshade. With my sore back I could not turn around and defend myself so I just had to “take it” til my wife calmed her down…
