The leaves are turning color and falling to the ground (see photo to the left). Soon winter will be here.
Our neighbors Michael and Jue Lan Sue had us over for afternoon tea today. We told them that we would drop by when Katie got up from her afternoon nap. Since Katie slept in late we were a tad late, but they welcomed us with open arms none-the-less.
They left some of the toys out that their sons used to play with when they were kids. One of them was LiteBrite…a “coloring with lights” toy that was around when I was a child. I forgot all about it. I wonder if Katie wouldn’t like one of those for Christmas? They also had a series of various plush animal toys. Katie really took to them and was soon lining them up all in a row.
Jue Lan, who is an amateur artist, took us downstairs to show us her art studio. She got some pencils and paper out for Katie and soon Katie had us drawing various items for her. She wanted a cow, so Jue Lan, who was situated in an awkward position, had to draw it while being situated upside down.
By about 7pm it was time to go home. We all enjoyed ourselves very much.
