When I got home from work this evening there was a big “duct tape” covered box at the front door. My wife and I were both wondering what it could be. As it turns out they were the solar Christmas lights that my wife purchased. You can see a picture of them in the photo to the right. They are rather tiny little lights (blue in color), but it sure is an added advantage that they don’t take any electricity. This means that as long as the sun is out, and the sensors are picking up that light, you can string them on almost any tree you find…
As soon as Katie saw the lights she wanted to put them up. We had to find a way to “distract her”. So, I went into our “Stash Box” of Dollar Store gifts and came out with a package of “glow” necklaces. I told Katie that we could use them as Christmas lights and that seemed to suffice. We ended up bending them into loops and rolling them up and down the hallway with the hall light off. Great fun…
My wife was remarking how much she loves to decorate the place “Christmasy”. She didn’t feel that way in Cary. I guess it could be because she was so busy with her studies, but I think the real reason is that we feel so much more like our new neighborhood is “home”.
