Day #1192 (Tue., Apr. 9, 2013) – Cleaning Up The Ants
We got Katie a pink watering can so she can water the plants (see photo to the left). You know Katie and water…she loves it…
When I got home from work this evening my wife and Katie were playing on the deck. My wife asked me to take care of Katie while she made dinner. We ended up blowing bubbles with a magic wand.
We had dinner on the deck this evening. All of a sudden Katie broke out into her rendition of “Go Away Scary Monster Go Away”. She seems to really like that song. Not a bit of wonder, it has monsters in it…something she seems to be fascinated with.
My wife and I were both beat this evening. I let my wife go to bed early as I have been sick quite a bit as of late and wanted to do my part. Katie started off by washing her animals in the sink but we were soon watching cartoons. Next up was “Jungle Animals” of course. While we were playing Katie happened to see a number of ants running around the floor. It kind of freaked her out so I took the opportunity to explain to her that it was due to the fact she left food around. If you took food away, they would go away.
I did tell my wife that if I got too tired I would wake her up. At least by then she would have had some sleep. That turned out to be the case as Katie would not go to bed and by 10pm I was spent. I woke my wife up and it was her turn to manage Katie’s endeavors.
When I went to Katie and told her that I was going to bed she cried and cried and ended up in mommy’s arms. As she was crying I told her that she should tell mommy about the ant issue. Soon she was up and taking mommy to see the ants. That seemed to take her mind off the fact that daddy was going to bed.
