Day #1193 (Wed., Apr. 10, 2013) – Katie The Kitty

2013-04-10 - WholeFoods CompostMy wife called me at work and told me that we had an ant problem (as Katie and I experienced last night) and that we needed some ant traps. She also mentioned that she needed some compost and drop her car off at the mechanic to get her air conditioner fixed. We decided that we would bundle up Katie and take her with us…and have YoPop afterwards.

As my wife was getting compost at WholeFoods (see photo to the left) I explained to Katie what compost was and how it helped the flowers grow. She seemed to take it all in. Our next stop was True Value Hardware for some more compost and some ant traps. With that done we headed to YoPop.

Katie is still pretending that she is a cat. She insisted in crawling into the YoPop store, meowing as she did. While we were in line to get ice cream a lady mentioned that one of her daughters pretended she was a cat for 3 months. She would lick her dinner off a plate on the floor while her two other children sat at the table. Go figure. I was telling my wife that perhaps this was a GodSend…we thought we were alone in Katie’s quest to be a cat.

As we were leaving YoPop Katie spotted two dogs so she ran up to pat them. The two girls who owned the dogs explained us what their breeds were like. One of them, a pit bull and Australian shepherd mix, kissed Katie on the mouth. It scared her and she started to cry.

Next stop was Lowe’s so that Katie could sit on the tractors. By this point she was getting rather fussy. On the car ride home she would interrupt my wife and I…and not be as nice and polite as she was during the weekend. She did mention that she needed to go potty so we stopped off at Subway to take care of it.

By the time we got home Katie was a royal pain. She would talk back, turn off the television, scream, etc. I went to bed early so my wife had to deal with the “Cat Monster”…
