Day #6096 – (Mon., Sep. 14, 2026) – Diclofenac Misprostol

Bobby felt well enough to go to school on his bike this morning! Hopefully he will not have a “one day week” moving forward. You know, to school on Monday and off the rest of the week…

Batman is up and looking for pats (see photo to the right).

The knee pain had subsided just enough that I was able to take Katie to school this morning.  That Voltaren cream seems to be getting the job done, for now…

By noon my leg started to act up and I asked my wife to see if she could get me an appointment at Urgent Care. She did, for 6:05 pm this evening. The doctor who saw me was Dr. Daniela Pompilia Chifor, who my wife says is from Romania. She was very understanding and helpful. When I told her that the office prescribed me a great pain killer when I saw them last January she left the room to check out what the computer said. She came back with a prescription for “Diclofenac Misprostol 75mg + 200 mcg”, which is I believe the same stuff in the Voltaren cream, only stronger. It did the trick last time, so I’m hopeful it will work this time as well. 60 pills, so at 2 per day, this prescription will last me a month!

The prescription went to Shopper’s Drug Mart in Courtenay. They said that I could pick it up in two hours, but my leg was bothering me so I drove home and had a nap. When I left at 9 pm this evening to pick the prescription up Katie was heading to the swing. I asked her if she wanted to go on a drive, and she did, so we were off.

On the way to Shopper’s Drug Mart and back we talked about her business class, and how much she likes it. She said that she thinks that she has found her calling. I told her that if I had known more about myself when I was 16 I would have gone into business as well. I don’t think she will have to “wander in the desert” for years like I did trying to figure life out.

There was a mix up in terms of lunch sitting at school today so Katie ate her lunch in the art room, like she did last year with Anika. No Anika there today…Katie was not sure where she was…perhaps eating with her friends?

Katie met with Mr. Randall today for her “Independent Study” class. He has assigned her to look up the various “isms”, such as capitalism, socialism, communism.

I need to take Bobby for a haircut on Thursday as they are getting their class photos taken on Friday. The appointment is for 3:45 pm with Erin at Extreme Ends Salon & Spa, 331 4th Street, Courtenay BC. It’s next door to the Butcher’s Block.
