Day #1194 (Thu., Apr. 11, 2013) – Animals On The Box
Katie has started to become a real pain as far as electronics goes. In particular:
1) If she has the remote and wants to watch something other than what I am watching she will take it from me and give it to my wife to change the station.
2) If I am watching something and wants to play she will go over to the television and shut it off.
3) If she is anywhere near my laptop and I am working on it she will turn it off.
4) If she is anywhere near my laptop and sees the power cord she will unplug it.
I think she gets a great kick out of the power this gives her over other people’s lives.
My wife went to bed early this evening so I tended to Katie. We started off playing “Jungle Animals” (surprise, surprise). I showed her how to straddle the animals on the top of a cardboard box (see photo to the left) and she made a “parade of animals” around the perimeter.
We then built a big tower out of the red cardboard building blocks. She would grab a block, throw it to me, and I would put it on the tower. This time she didn’t go over to it and knock it down.
About 10pm I was beat and Katie was just warming up. I woke up my wife so that she could take the “midnight shift” with Katie while I went to bed.
