Day #1191 (Mon., Apr. 8, 2013) – Katie Sees An Owl
The photo to the left shows one of the “blonde boys” that Katie tends to play with at preschool. My wife tells me that it’s quite something to see those three kids running around…blonde hair flopping about.
I went to Trader Joe’s on the way home from work to pick up supplies. While I was there I saw Christine, Katie’s teacher. She told me that Katie came up to her in school today and pointed an owl in the tree. When I got home I mentioned this to Katie and she seemed rather shy about it…but soon fessed up.
I got some stickers for Katie while I was at Trader Joe’s. I gave them to her this evening and she dutifully put them on my sweater…while I was still in it. We then went to see the “soup” that she had made…acorn and grass soup in a black bucket. I convinced Katie that the bucket was a much better place for the stickers…so she put them there.
I’m not sure why, but Katie has really taken on this persona as a cat. I guess Katie even said hello to the teachers in her class this morning with a “Meow”. This evening she insisted on having some ketchup on a saucer so she could “lap it up”. I’m not sure how long this phase will continue. Time to get a cat or dog? Maybe we need a Great Dane so it can tire Katie out…
