Day #1712 (Thu., Sep. 11, 2014) – Clingy Katie

2014-09-11 - Paper Plate Lion

The photo to the left shows the paper plate lion that Katie made in school yesterday.

Katie woke up just a bit after 8 am this morning. My wife spent about 10 minutes brushing tangles out of her hair, watching My Little Pony, and getting ready for school. They almost reached MLK when my wife realized that she had forgotten her backpack so back home they went.

Today was one of those days in which Katie was clingy. She got very shy for some reason and wouldn’t leave my wife. She had to almost tear her little hands off her and hand her to Ms. Ellen. It was a different story when Nikki picked her up. She was happy as a clam and wanted to go see Miley. At Nikki’s place they had lunch and got ready for dance class. I guess Katie frowned a bit when Nikki mentioned that they would be going to dance class but this relented when Nikki promised to stay with her and practice afterwards.

Katie actually had fun at the class! She listened to the teacher and followed directions. Her favorite step today was the curtsy.

After class they went back to Nikki’s place and did lots of drawing and coloring…Katie’s “Most Favorite” activity as of late. When they finally got back to our place Katie wanted to play in the inflatable pool and with the hose. She had fun but my wife was eaten alive by mosquitoes…

By 8 pm Katie was already in bed reading stories. They read three Clifford stories (Katie turned the pages) and two Magic School Bus stories (My wife got to turn pages).

9:15pm – she is out!
