I’m going to put a roadblock in the hallway for the next few weeks so that Katie will know to come and wake me up and leave my wife alone so she can get some sleep. This morning I made Katie a waffle, dressed her, and drove her to preschool. Katie must be so excited to have little Bobby here…she wrote her name in “Leo’s Space” so Leo had to write his name in hers. I signed up Katie for the “Preschool Camp” which will be held after preschool ends.
I drove my wife and little Bobby out to the pediatrician’s office again. There is a question of little Bobby not gaining enough weight. Today he weighed in at 9 lbs 8 oz. We’re going to take him back on Friday for one last attempt to get this whole weight thing behind us.
While at the office the pediatrician asked if Katie was getting enough attention these days. I guess he is concerned that she will be overlooked now that there is a new baby here. I told her that we had Daddy/Daughter day yesterday. He mentioned that due to their limited attention span it is better to spend 10 minutes every hour with them rather than 1 hour every 6 hours.
As we were leaving the pediatrician’s office little Bobby started to cry and cry. As soon as we were outside he stopped. I’m not sure if this was due to the fresh air or the gentle swaying motion of the stroller.
Little Bobby’s eyes are starting to focus more now. He’s fascinated with the “red, black and white” hanging ornaments on the top of the pink baby seat we place him in. He can see these particular colors really good now.
This evening my wife got a set of foam bath toys for Katie. You basically put the animal frame on the wall of the tub and add and remove accessories to them (see photo to the left). It makes it easy to keep Katie in the tub longer.
I tended to little Bobby on the patio this evening. It’s good for him to get fresh air. I updated this blog as I watched over him.
