Day #2451 (Mon., Sept. 19, 2016) – Wooden Rocking Horse

Both my wife and I took the day off work today. For starters we went to see the doctor who didn’t give me very good news regarding my knee. He thought that the brace would help more than it has and said that I might need a knee replacement. He did say that it might improve now that the brace has been adjusted…but we’ll see…

The next stop was to the big consignment sale in Morrisville. I couldn’t walk much so I spent a good deal of the time on a nearby bench waiting for my wife to pick up the items she needed. What a contrast to last year when I was the one walking about and my wife had to sit down because she was pregnant and tired.

2016-09-19-wooden-horseWe picked up a number of things for the kids. For Bobby we got a fire station and engine, a police cycle he can sit on, and a radio flyer bike. There was not a lot of items we thought Katie would like but we did get a majestic wooden rocking horse (see photo to the right). The craftsmanship and detail on this is amazing…even down to the carving on the ears.

After shopping we were planning on going to the Bosphorus for lunch but it is closed on Monday. We ended up at another Mediterranean restaurant on Kildaire Farm Road called “Sassool”. Good choice…it was delish.

When we got home the kids really enjoyed the gifts. Just before bedtime I picked Bobby up and twirled him upside down while I said “Pineapple Upside Down Cake”. He smiled and grinned and kept coming back for more.
