Day #2486 (Mon., Oct. 24, 2016) – Meeting Patience

2016-10-24-cat-pumpkinOn the drive to Glenwood this morning I told Katie how proud I was that she was able to figure out “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” on the piano last night. I made a big deal about it and told her how something like this was “magical” to those who don’t have a great ear for music. She said that she was going to mention this feat to her music teacher at Glenwood.

The photo to the right shows the cat pumpkin that Katie and I carved a while back. It has now worked it’s way to the top of the straw bale at the end of our driveway.

This evening we had an interview with Patience. She is applying for the job of Bobby’s nanny. She’s originally from Portland, Oregon and went to Brigham Young University in Utah. She was really not what we were looking for. She said on her profile that she liked kids but she never really talked to Katie or Bobby much. In fact, Bobby was trying to get a look at her car keys and she kept hiding them from him and ignoring him. Not really someone who likes kids as she suggested in her profile. At any rate, I think she just wanted to get a change from her job in retail which she said she didn’t like.

I was on the LazyBoy this evening and Katie came up to give me a hug. She accidentally poured a glass of water all over me. A learning moment on the importance of being careful.
