Day #3053 (Wed., May 16, 2018) – Lunch At Carolina Cafe
No school for Katie today. The North Carolina teachers are on strike for more pay.
We called up Sharon this morning to get some ideas on how to deal with Katie’s grade in reading and Sophie.
This afternoon we drove out to Meadowmont so I could add a couple of names to my Post Office box. Katie tagged along with her camera as she wanted to take a picture of a lizard if we happened to come across one. We had lunch at the Carolina Cafe afterward. Katie had the mac & cheese and a rice krispy treat (see photo to the right). On the way back to the car I saw Matt, the trader card guy, who works in the cube right next to mine. He was at Brixx for lunch.
My wife ordered a pool from Amazon that has solid sides and is more durable than the inflatable pools we have been getting the past few years. The pool cover is coming tomorrow so we didn’t put it up this afternoon.
This evening Katie made a “Tomato Water” concoction? Bobby got into the game as well and made daddy some water and tea (I have this on video).
Bobby still wants to watch YouTube videos on daddy’s phone all the time. I let him watch it a bit in the evening before bed. I will tell him that I will recharge it for him for use tomorrow as I take it away. He’s a bit upset about this, but takes it in stride.
