Day #3775 (Thu., May 7, 2020) – UNC Hospital Flyover

There was a flyover by a C-17 jet around noon today in support of the hospital staff (see photo to the left).

The C-17 jet flew over dozens of hospitals and medical centers throughout North Carolina as a show of support to healthcare employees and their tireless work during the COVID-19 pandemic. They called it Operation American Resolve.

It was quite a quick event actually. We went to the field just past the Ronald MacDonald house in Chapel Hill to view it. We had our masks on and kept away from people. On the way home we counted those with masks and those without. 10/20 have masks near the UNC, but by the time we circled around Carrboro and home it was around 56/115. Katie was really getting into it…

We picked up a brown Lazy Boy that someone left out on the roadside in Carrboro on the way home.

Bobby doesn’t want to go for these rides anymore. He just wants to stay home and ride his bike.

Bobby wanted me to put him to bed this evening, so I did…just like old times.
