Glenwood is trying to get Bobby to come to school for an assessment. They said that they will wear a mask and it can be done outdoors, but given how things are going as of late, we’re not going to risk it. My wife send the following reply:
I’m afraid we’ll have to say no this time. It’s not worth the risk for us. If he was a high-schooler, we might think differently (well, he would be vaccinated…)! I really do not worry about Bobby’s reading skills – he read all summer and even at the end of Kindergarten tested close to a 2nd grade level (you can ask Ms. Towne, she was his teacher). Currently he is reading The Magic Tree House. My understanding is that as of Monday, the state cannot punish the school (based on performance) for Bobby not taking a test, so let’s not worry about that. If his teacher needs to test him once they start classes, I’m sure they can do that via Google meet as was done many times last year.
The photo to the left shows a couple of drawings that Katie did in her online art class this evening. I used this opportunity to talk to her about “personification”, where animals take on human traits.
