Day #5484 – (Fri., Jan. 10, 2025) – Lake Trail Thrift Store
Both kids are home sick today.
It was such a beautiful sunny day here in the Comox Valley. With all the rain we get in November & December, it really feels good when the sun comes out! We already have 18 more minutes of sunshine today than we did on December 21st… The days are getting longer!
It was such a nice sunny day today that I decided to take a ride. I ended up at the Lake Trail Thrift Store (see photo to the right). It took me back to the first visit we had to the Comox Valley way back in April of 2022! It doesn’t look much better in the sunlight than it did on that rainy day we first laid eyes on it. I remember going in there with the kids, looking over the “All Items For $2” stuff, and thinking about our plans to move to Canada and start our new life. Here it is 2025 and we are here!
It looks like the spray that I put on the “Barn Suite” steps is starting to work it’s magic. The flourishing moss has transformed from a bright green to a drab yellow. I suspect that it will die soon and blow away in the rainy wind one day!
Since Katie is sick today she was unable to meet up with Shanti, Kamila, and Elizabeth to go shopping this evening.
